Classic Jackets
With details to impress
|
|
|
This classic jacket is knitted in good quality 100% Acrylic 4 ply (we used
Denys Brunton's) and features cabling on the shoulders at front and back,
pintucks on the button bands and pintucks on the collar (which stands away from
the neck).
The pattern
includes detailed instructions on working the cables and the pintucks.
|
| The
original jacket was knitted in burgundy - which suits the style beautifully but is not
the easiest of colours to photograph and show the texture details. Six sizes
from 32"-42". |
 |
 |
Wonderfully warm, this
jacket is almost double thickness because of the dense nature of the
modern Fair Isle pattern.
The
longline jacket features an exclusive 24 stitch Fair Isle pattern from Busy Bee
- there are no long floats (6 stitches maximum).
Styled with warm cuffs and a deep rib at
the neckline, this jacket is easy and warm to wear. The original was knitted in
good quality 100% Acrylic 4 ply - we used Denys Brunton's yarn in Black and
Gold. 7 sizes from 32" to 44". |
| The
third jacket in this book is a classic length, double breasted, shawl collar
jacket.
The stitch pattern is a classic dog-tooth design, the centre ribbing,
which folds over to form the cowl collar, is
quick and straightforward to accomplish. Knitted in good quality 100% Acrylic 4
ply, we used Denys Brunton's 4 ply Acrylic.
Available in 3 multi-sizes, 32" to 42". |

| For best results, use a
really good quality 4 ply Acrylic and, if you cannot find Denys
Brunton's 4 ply Acrylic, be prepared to sample knit until you find a
suitable alternative. The yarn you use should not be a fine 4 ply (the
fabric would feel too thin) and should have some body and not be too soft
or too stiff! As the dyes used on the yarns can also affect the
feel of the yarn it is always advisable to sample knit first when
substituting a different yarn. |
