Busy Bee Basics Machine Knitting Designs

Book 70   £6.00     New Edition   Garter Carriage (Electronic)

Book 70 Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle

Elegantly Electronic

These fabrics are not to be pressed or ironed!

Aran Style Sweater for Electronics from Book 70

A longline sweater with a lovely textured pattern that almost looks like traditional Aran - but it's not! The yarn is a good quality 4 ply Acrylic (We used Denys Brunton Yarn).

All the texture is achieved by the garter carriage, there is no hand tooling or cabling. The stitch pattern is only suitable for electronic machines as it is 200 stitches wide.

In this picture you can clearly see the detail and continuity of design that Barbara has put into the bottom border - and that is repeated in the cuffs and neckband. To fit sizes 32"-46"

This stitch pattern is the full 200 stitches wide

The matching longline cardigan has the same stitch pattern but the main motifs are arranged to centre on each cardigan front, rather that centre front as on the sweater.

The pattern on the Back has also been reconstructed with a textured central panel, so ensuring that the patterns match on the shoulders.

The 'Aran' effect is also helped by the choice of Denys Brunton's Nep 4 ply 100% Acrylic yarn for this design. To fit sizes 30"-44"

This pattern is 200 stitches wide

Aran Style Cardigan for Electronics from Book 70
Centre Motif Sweater for Electronics from Book 70

This classic length sweater features another electronic garter carriage design - on a slightly smaller scale - with a central motif flanked by rows of pattern that can look like cables (they're not cables, of course, all the effect is achieved by the garter carriage alone).

Again, the attention to pattern detail on the welts, cuffs and neckband enhances this sweater.

Knitted in good quality 4 ply Acrylic, this sweater is sized to fit 34"-48"

This was so difficult to photograph!

The tunic was knitted in Sable crepe, a r ply 100& Acrylic with a twist which gives it a lighter-weight look and more sheen.

The stitch pattern is a lovelySampler Sweater for Electronics from Book 70 "sampler" pattern; the pattern has an all-over look but is subtle enough not to dominate the sweater, but to give it more the look of a damask textured fabric.

The welts and cuffs have hems faced with a pattern of diamonds; the hems give firmness and weight, especially to the welt, which hangs and drapes well.

Designed for sizes 32"-46"

These garments are not pressed - pressing is not needed and could spoil the look of these designs.
Most of these stitch patterns are very large, but they are all available on disk GE1 for either Brother disk drive or DesignaKnit
